Student Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Artificien
Jake Epstein is a Dartmouth ’21 studying Engineering Sciences and Computer Science with experience working at a number of early growth stage ventures and at a family office in the blockchain space. Highlights of prior accomplishments include raising seed capital for a health tech venture, interning at a rapid recharging technology company and military contractor, and working on a $100 million plus blockchain related project. He is the co-founder of Artificien, a start-up focused on providing fair and equitable data access to enterprises seeking to train artificial intelligence or machine learning. Artificien seeks to provide a platform to compensate data holders for the anonymous use of their data and enable independent data seekers to train better, more complex AI. Jake is passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, and coffee. In 2017, he co-founded Top Floor Coffee out of his freshman dorm, an artisanal cold-brew coffee company that delivered fresh morning product to the dorms of Dartmouth students. He quickly scaled the company out of his dorm common room and was later approached by a large Boston-based copacker for a buyout and hire offer, where he would spearhead the company’s new product line of highly concentrated and caffeinated cold brew shots. Jake also has two patents pending. In his free time, Jake is on the Magnuson Center’s Student Leadership Board and is a portfolio monitor at the Dartmouth Investment and Philanthropy Program, a student managed equity fund. He was also a national champion on Dartmouth’s fencing team in 2018.
